Blackhawk Fly Fishing owner Abby Jackson will be on hand at the Great Southern Fishing Show giving out samples of Abby J's Blackhawk "Farm to Table" Bean & Jalapeño Salsa between 3pm-4pm. As a fly fisher with a love for cooking, Abby wanted to create something that her anglers could enjoy after a day of catching huge trophy fish at Blackhawk Fly Fishing. Stop by the Blackhawk booth and give it a try to add a little spice to your life!
Bio
Abby Jackson graduated from Piedmont College and North Georgia University with a BA in Sociology and BBA in Business Marketing.
She started her career right out of college in corporate sales as a National Sales Manager for 20 years for fortune 500 companies.
In 1995 she and her husband, John, established Blackhawk Flyfishing located on the Soque River in beautiful Northeast Georgia.
She decided in 2005 that her love and passion for flyfishing had taken over being in the corporate world. Blackhawk was calling her
to run and manage all operations. She got off the corporate trail to take on the mighty fish and so called "Anglers" of the Soque.
What a blessing it has been so far!!!
We host fly-fishing schools, corporate and family retreats, father and son outings, special events and kids day camps. We would like to pass along our love for flyfishing to the next generation. She was raised in Habersham County and grew up on the Soque River which naturally flows through her fathers home place in Batesville, Georgia. Sunday afternoons were always special because she enjoyed fishing with her brother, Tony.
In Abby's spare time, which is very little, she enjoys hosting cooking events, where she has had many Atlanta chefs: Virginia Willis, Rebecca Lang, Quito McKenna and Dew Belline from Float Café. These chefs come up to really put on the dog @ Blackhawk. By the way, I can't leave my dogs out of this. I have 3 British Labs: Little Bit, Ham Beau, and Lizzie Dottie Lynch that we truly adore... Woof! Woof! I also love to garden which I now have 3 raised beds for herbs and acres of Sunflowers which enhances wildlife and turkey population. We have also played an important role in Hemlock & tree preservation which we treated over 2500 hemlocks @ Blackhawk in 2008. We are truly blessed and thankful by this little bit of heaven that God has provided for us to take care of and pass along to the next generation.
